Mais, qu'est-ce que c'est ça... un cadavre exquis?
Cadavre exquis (exquisite corpse) is a Surrealist game that relies on undirected collaboration in order to create a piece of art. Blind to the whole, each participant appends his or her own fanciful piece. The result: a poem, story, or drawing that inevitably reaches toward the absurd, fantastical, and bizarre corners of the beholder's imagination.
The blog Cadavre Exquis is an approximation of this game. It offers an edited collection of articles, links, images, and video intended to spur you, the reader, on to the rich creative spoils to be found on the Internet. My own contributions are throughout, but most items are the ongoing record of my haphazard exploration.
